In this cloth diaper review of Fuzzibunz Perfect Size diapers, we share what we love and would change about these pocket diapers.
Cloth Diaper Brand - FuzziBunz
Diaper Type - Pocket
Overall Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
What size did you purchase? - We purchased one small and several medium size diapers. This diaper comes in 4 sizes: X-Small - 4 to 12 lbs, Small - 7-18 lbs, Medium - 15 to 30 lbs, Large 25 to 40+ lbs
How much did you pay for it? - $15 per diaper, including one microfiber insert.
Fuzzibunz is one of those
completely reliable diaper options. While the cost of purchasing
diapers in multiple sizes can add up, sized diapers are definitely one
of the best options for a nice, snug fit.
We used our Fuzzibunz Perfect Size Diapers primarily as our go-to over-night diapers. They were wide enough and roomy enough to prevent leaks, even when we stuffed them up with several inserts and doublers.
The design of FuzziBunz Perfect Size is great. While many brands have added hip snaps to prevent "wing droop" and the leaking that can happen when the diaper isn't snug around the legs, we never had a problem with Fuzzibunz. I think that with the two snaps on either side, the placement is perfect to avoid leaks... and two snaps are easier than 3 on a wiggly baby!
These diapers are really well made, and my sister can testify that they hold up for the long haul - hers have gone through 2 children already and are still in great shape. One more thing that I truly appreciate about this diaper is the simplicity of changing the elastics. Over time, exposure to urine and detergents causes the elastic in most diapers to start to lose its stretch. FuzziBunz design makes changing the elastic easy and painless - and they even provides replacement elastic with every diaper!
You may hear people say that FuzziBunz sizing runs big. I tend to agree. We weren't able to use the small right away on our 8 lb newborn - it was too big. We used the medium starting at around 18 lbs, and it fit right up until 35 lbs.
isn't much I would change about the FuzziBunz Perfect Size diaper. I
don't use pocket diapers as often as I used to, but this is a great
I`m not a huge fan of microfiber inserts. We primarily used hemp inserts sold by AMP Diapers, and we stuffed our FuzziBunz with hemp most often. Even with two microfiber inserts, I found they weren`t as absorbent as a single AMP Hemp Insert. While a microfiber insert will work during the day, if you plan to use this diaper for naps or overnight, I would definitely want to at least double up the microfiber inserts... but I would definitely consider investing in more absorbent inserts for overnight and for heavy wetters. Most inserts will fit in the FuzziBunz pocket.
Yes, on a scale of 1 to 4 (with 1 being never, and 4 being absolutely!), I give FuzziBunz Perfect Size Diapers a 4.
As far as pockets go, FuzziBunz are one of my favorites. I`m not currently using FuzziBunz, as I don't use pockets as often any more - since I went back to work, I found I prefer AI2s that didn't require stuffing.
